A fast-scaling EV maker needed durable, UV-stable exterior body panels without the cost and 4-month lead time of injection-mould tooling — and needed to iterate the styling between early production batches.
Solution
Thermoformed UV-stable ASA panels, colour-matched in-house from our own extruded sheet, with soft tooling cut on our 5-axis CNC in about four weeks. Design revisions were absorbed on the soft tool at negligible cost.
Result
A faster market launch, a lighter vehicle and a repeatable premium finish across production runs — at a fraction of the tooling capital an equivalent injection programme would have locked up.
