PET & PETG thermoforming

Clear PET & PETG thermoforming

When a part must be crystal-clear, food-safe and recyclable, PET is the answer. Indu Thermoformers forms virgin APET, recycled RPET and tough glycol-modified PETG from sheet extruded in-house — for packaging that sells on the shelf and guards you can see through.

PET vs PETG — and when each wins

Virgin APET offers the highest clarity (>92% light transmission) and stiffness — ideal for retail blisters, cups and food trays. RPET brings the same clarity with post-consumer recycled content for sustainability targets. PETG is the tough, glycol-modified variant: it forms deep draws without whitening or pre-drying, resists chemicals and takes tight radii — the choice for machine guards, medical device housings and orthotics.

Clarity, food safety and sustainability in one family

All three grades are extruded on our own lines, so we control clarity, gauge and recycled percentage. Food-contact and medical grades are available with declarations. Because PET is widely recycled, it is often the lowest-friction choice for brands with packaging-sustainability commitments — and RPET lets you put recycled content on the label without sacrificing shelf appeal.

Why Indu for PET & PETG thermoforming

In-house sheet extrusion

We extrude the sheet we form — grade, colour and thickness controlled from the pellet, with no outside vendor in the loop.

Largest bed in India

Thin- and thick-gauge lines, including the largest thermoforming bed in the country for oversized parts.

Tooling in 2–4 weeks

Moulds and trim fixtures designed and cut in-house on 5-axis CNC — fast, and cheap to revise.

ISO 9001 & full docs

8-gate inspection with COA, MTC, FAIR and PPAP-level documentation on request.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between PET, APET and PETG?

APET is amorphous virgin PET — the clearest and stiffest, for packaging. RPET is recycled PET. PETG is glycol-modified PET — tougher and more forgiving to form deep draws without whitening, for guards, displays and medical parts.

Can you supply recycled (RPET) sheet?

Yes — we extrude RPET with post-consumer recycled content in-house, and certify the recycled percentage. It keeps PET clarity while meeting packaging-recycled-content requirements.

Is thermoformed PET food safe?

Yes — food-contact APET and RPET grades are available with FDA / EU declarations. PET is also one of the most widely recycled packaging plastics, which helps with sustainability reporting.
