Automotive thermoformed parts
Thermoformed automotive parts
Cars are full of thermoformed parts — wheel-arch liners, load floors, skid plates, interior trim and under-body trays that need to be light, tough and cheap to tool at model-run volumes. Indu Thermoformers forms large-format automotive parts in ABS, TPO, HDPE and ASA, often replacing heavier metal or fibreglass fabrications.

Light, tough parts at model-run volumes
Automotive volumes — thousands to tens of thousands a year — sit right where thermoforming beats injection moulding on tooling cost and lead time. We form impact-modified ABS and TPO for interior trim and liners, HDPE for tough under-body and load-floor parts, and ASA or PMMA-capped ABS where an exterior part must hold colour in UV. Ribs, mounting bosses and channels are formed in, consolidating several metal pieces into one part.
Built for OEM programmes
OEM and Tier-1 supply runs on documentation and traceability: in-house extrusion gives lot traceability, 5-axis CNC trims to datum for repeatable fit, and FAIR, COA, MTC and PPAP packs are available. Large parts — full liners and floors — are formed on the largest thermoforming bed in India, with soft tooling cut in weeks and revised cheaply as the programme matures.

Why Indu for automotive thermoformed parts
In-house sheet extrusion
We extrude the sheet we form — grade, colour and thickness controlled from the pellet, with no outside vendor in the loop.
Largest bed in India
Thin- and thick-gauge lines, including the largest thermoforming bed in the country for oversized parts.
Tooling in 2–4 weeks
Moulds and trim fixtures designed and cut in-house on 5-axis CNC — fast, and cheap to revise.
ISO 9001 & full docs
8-gate inspection with COA, MTC, FAIR and PPAP-level documentation on request.
Frequently asked questions
Which automotive parts are thermoformed?
Wheel-arch liners, load floors, skid plates, under-body trays, interior trim and door panels, and EV battery covers — parts that benefit from light weight, large size and low tooling cost.
Can thermoforming replace metal automotive parts?
Often, yes — thermoformed plastic replaces stamped or fabricated metal for covers, liners and trays, cutting weight, corrosion and part count. See our metal-to-plastic conversion page.
Do you support PPAP and OEM documentation?
Yes — in-house extrusion gives lot traceability, and we provide FAIR, COA, MTC and PPAP-level documentation with 8-gate inspection.
Can you make large parts like full load floors?
Yes — we run the largest thermoforming bed in India for oversized liners, floors and panels.
