What is pressure forming?

Pressure forming is vacuum forming's high-definition sibling. As the vacuum draws the heated sheet onto the mould, compressed air presses it from behind at several times atmospheric pressure — forcing the plastic into every corner, texture and detail of the tool. The result: sharp radii, crisp formed-in features and cosmetic surfaces close to injection moulding, while keeping thermoforming's soft tooling, fast lead times and low cost. It's the process of choice for equipment enclosures and bezels where appearance sells the product.
