HDPE thermoforming

HDPE thermoforming

HDPE is the tough, chemical- and moisture-proof choice for parts that live outdoors, in water or in rough handling. Indu Thermoformers forms HDPE in heavy gauge up to 12 mm — from sheet extruded in-house — for material handling, marine and industrial applications.

Where HDPE earns its place

HDPE shrugs off chemicals, water and repeated impact, and UV-stabilised grades survive years outdoors. It is the natural material for dunnage that gets thrown around, tanks that hold aggressive fluids, and marine parts that never dry out. Its low stiffness means large flat parts are ribbed or run in heavy gauge for rigidity.

Heavy-gauge HDPE

For rugged, structural parts — tanks, liners, covers and load-bearing components — heavy-gauge HDPE up to 12 mm delivers strength and impact resistance that survive years of hard use. Rigidity is engineered in with wall thickness, formed geometry and ribbing. Food-contact HDPE grades are available for hygienic material handling.

Why Indu for HDPE thermoforming

In-house sheet extrusion

We extrude the sheet we form — grade, colour and thickness controlled from the pellet, with no outside vendor in the loop.

Largest bed in India

Thin- and thick-gauge lines, including the largest thermoforming bed in the country for oversized parts.

Tooling in 2–4 weeks

Moulds and trim fixtures designed and cut in-house on 5-axis CNC — fast, and cheap to revise.

ISO 9001 & full docs

8-gate inspection with COA, MTC, FAIR and PPAP-level documentation on request.

Frequently asked questions

Can HDPE be thermoformed?

Yes — HDPE forms well, especially in heavy gauge. Because it is low-stiffness, large flat parts are usually ribbed or run in a thicker gauge for rigidity.

How thick can HDPE be formed?

We form heavy-gauge HDPE up to about 12 mm for tanks, liners, covers and load-bearing parts — with rigidity engineered in through wall thickness and formed geometry rather than adding weight.

Is HDPE suitable for outdoor use?

Yes — UV-stabilised HDPE grades resist sunlight, moisture and chemicals for years, making it a top choice for marine, agricultural and outdoor material-handling parts.
