How we work

Your order, tracked end to end

From the first drawing to the packed pallet, every order follows the same disciplined path — and every part is traceable back to its resin lot. Here is exactly what happens after you get in touch, how long each stage takes, and how we keep it all documented.

The order journey

Indu Thermoformers order lifecycle timeline: 1. Inquiry & DFM review (day 0), 2. Quotation (within 24 hours), 3. Tooling (2–4 weeks), 4. First article & approval (~1 week), 5. Production (2–4 weeks), 6. 8-gate quality (in-line, every part), 7. Packing & dispatch (2–5 days in India), 8. After-sales & repeat (ongoing).
  1. 01

    Inquiry & DFM review

You send a drawing, 3D file (STEP), sample or sheet spec. Our engineers review it for manufacturability — material, draft, wall thickness, tooling approach — and flag anything that will affect cost or quality before anything is committed.

  2. 02

    Quotation

A costed quotation covering tooling, unit price, material and lead time, usually within 24 hours of a complete brief. Tooling remains your property, documented in the quote.

  3. 03

    Tooling

We design and cut the mould in-house — aluminium, FRP, epoxy or MDF depending on volume — on our 5-axis CNC and VMC. No tool-shop queue, so engineering changes happen in days.

  4. 04

    First article & approval

The first formed parts are inspected against your CAD (FAIR) and sent for your sign-off. Changes are absorbed on the soft tool before production begins.

  5. 05

    Production

On approval we form, trim (5-axis CNC against datums), and assemble to schedule — from prototype batches to high-volume runs — with SPC and first-off/last-off checks each shift.

  6. 06

    8-gate quality

Every part passes our 8-gate system: incoming material → extrusion gauge → tooling → forming → trimming → final inspection → documentation → CAPA. Nothing ships un-inspected.

  7. 07

    Packing & dispatch

Export-grade packing — film-wrap, corner protection, nesting-optimised and palletised — with the documentation your customs and receiving teams need.

  8. 08

    After-sales & repeat

Retained samples, tool storage and full traceability make repeat orders fast and consistent, order after order.

Indicative lead & shipping times

A realistic sense of timing for a typical programme. Actual times are confirmed against your part, volume and destination in the quotation.

StageTypical timeNotes
QuotationWithin 24 hoursOf a complete brief (drawing/spec + volume)
Tooling & first article2–4 weeksSoft/aluminium tooling, cut in-house
Sample approval~1 weekAfter first-article inspection & your sign-off
Production lead time2–4 weeksAfter approval; volume-dependent
Domestic dispatch (India)2–5 daysBy road to most metros from Vasai / Umbergaon
Export — Gulf / SE Asia~1–2 weeksIndicative sea transit from Nhava Sheva / Mundra
Export — Europe~3–4 weeksIndicative sea transit
Export — North America~4–6 weeksIndicative sea transit (coast-dependent)

Export transit times are indicative sea-freight estimates and exclude customs clearance; air freight and consolidated shipping can be arranged. All timings are confirmed per order.

Packing engineered for the journey

A Class-A surface that survives forming but not the truck is a failed part. Packing is designed per programme — at the same time as the part, not after it.

Protective film

Automated protective-film application on cosmetic surfaces — parts arrive scratch-free, film peels at your line.

Nesting & stack design

Parts nest into stable stacks with designed-in stacking lugs — maximum parts per pallet without pressure marks.

Edge & corner protection

Corner boards, edge profiles and separator layers where parts contact — no rub-through in transit.

Palletisation & container plan

Heat-treated (ISPM-15) export pallets, strapping and a container-loading plan that uses the full cube.

Labelling & count verification

Part number, lot and quantity verified at Gate 8 — cartons labelled to your receiving system's needs.

Documentation pack

Packing list, COA/MTC, invoice and compliance declarations ready for customs and your inward QA.

VCI / desiccant protection, sea-worthy lamination and returnable-packaging programmes available on request.

Full traceability, every batch

Every part we ship can be traced back through its production history — the backbone of our OEM and export programmes.

Traced by

  • Raw-material lot number
  • Sheet batch & extrusion record
  • Machine / tool identification
  • Production date & shift
  • Inspection & dispatch records

Documentation on request

  • Certificate of Analysis (COA)
  • Material Test Certificates (MTC)
  • First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
  • PPAP submission packs (automotive/OEM)
  • RoHS / REACH / FDA declarations
