Agriculture thermoforming

From nursery propagation to hydroponics, growers need trays that are tough, cheap at volume and designed around drainage and nesting. Indu Thermoformers forms seedling, plug, net-pot and hydroponic trays in PP, HDPE, HIPS and recycled grades from sheet extruded in-house.

Trays built for growing

Propagation trays need consistent cell geometry, drainage and stacking that survives greenhouse handling — and they need to be cheap at the volumes nurseries run. Thermoforming from our own PP and HDPE sheet delivers exactly that: multi-cell seedling and plug trays, net-pot and humidity-dome trays, and hydroponic channels and trays, with drainage and nesting formed straight in.

Durable, sustainable, and thermoformed thin

These parts are typically under 2 mm — thin-gauge, high-volume thermoforming — in tough, UV-stable grades for repeated outdoor use, with recycled-content options for growers with sustainability goals. Beyond trays, we form equipment covers and housings for agricultural and irrigation equipment in weatherable ASA and HDPE.

Why Indu for agriculture thermoforming

In-house sheet extrusion

We extrude the sheet we form — grade, colour and thickness controlled from the pellet, with no outside vendor in the loop.

Largest bed in India

Thin- and thick-gauge lines, including the largest thermoforming bed in the country for oversized parts.

Tooling in 2–4 weeks

Moulds and trim fixtures designed and cut in-house on 5-axis CNC — fast, and cheap to revise.

ISO 9001 & full docs

8-gate inspection with COA, MTC, FAIR and PPAP-level documentation on request.

Frequently asked questions

What material are seedling and plug trays made of?

Usually tough polypropylene or HDPE — UV-stable for outdoor use and cheap at nursery volumes. HIPS and recycled grades are options where cost or sustainability drives the choice.

Can you make hydroponic and net-pot trays?

Yes — net-pot trays, humidity-dome trays and hydroponic channels with drainage and net-pot apertures formed in, in food-safe and UV-stable grades.

Do you offer recycled-material trays?

Yes — recycled-content and ABA-core (recycled core, virgin skin) constructions for growers with sustainability targets, extruded in-house so we certify the recycled percentage.
