Flame retardance without additives

Unlike most thermoplastics that need FR compounding, rigid PVC is inherently flame-retardant — it self-extinguishes because of its chlorine content, achieving UL 94 V-0 without additives. Combined with excellent resistance to acids, alkalis and salts and strong dielectric properties, that makes it a specialist material for chemical-process and electrical environments.

We form rigid PVC into chemical tanks, manifolds, fume ducting and linings; electrical housings and cable-management components; industrial cabinets and machine guards; and construction profiles and cladding. It welds and bonds readily for fabricated assemblies. Where flexibility is needed, flexible PVC grades are available on request.

Frequently asked questions

Is PVC flame retardant without additives?

Yes — rigid PVC is inherently flame-retardant and self-extinguishing due to its chlorine content, achieving UL 94 V-0 without added FR chemicals. That makes it attractive where halogen-free is not a requirement.
