Cooling & trim defect
Part sticking to the mould in thermoforming
Also called: Release problems
Sticking is when the part grips the mould and will not release cleanly, risking distortion, tearing or surface damage as it is removed, and slowing the cycle.

Why it happens
- Insufficient draft angle on walls
- Releasing before the part has cooled/set
- Rough or undercut mould surface
- No release assist (air eject) on deep parts
How to fix & prevent it
- Design adequate draft angles into all walls
- Allow full cooling before ejection
- Improve mould finish; design out undercuts
- Add reverse-air eject / release features to the tool
How Indu prevents it: We design correct draft and air-eject into our tools and set cooling time so parts release clean and undistorted, every cycle.
